Sumner Benedict Sargent

In 1920, Sumner Benedict Sargent founded the Sargent Engineering Company. He obtained a patent on a specialty tool for the oil tool industry. His belief in the product and its potential led Sumner to sell the patent in order to raise the capital to start the company.

Airtomic Ducting Solutions move to new facility in Franklin, December 9th, 2019

On December 9th, 2019 Airtomic Ducting Solutions is excited to announce our move into a new 30,000 Sq. Ft facility. It is located just 1 mile from our current location Franklin Indiana. The move supports tripling our floor space in all areas to better serve our customers. The new building adds capacity in several areas including, our FAA-Repair station to repair, test and inspect tubes, ducts and manifolds. The added capacity also supports our OEM customers with our patented couplings for new manufactured products.
Airtomic has served our customers for more than 64 years with engineered solutions for all aircraft and engine issues. Thank you for your business and we look forward to working with you in the future.

F-35 Cockpit Demonstrator Event at Sargent Aerospace & Defense TUCSON, Ariz., August 5, 2014

The team executed a successful cockpit demonstration event on August 5 at Sargent Aerospace & Defense, an F-35 supplier in Tucson, Arizona, where we welcomed Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ-8), Rep. Ron Barber (D-AZ-2), and staff from the offices of Gov. Brewer, Sen. McCain, Sen. Flake, Rep. Kirkpatrick, and Rep. Gosar. Other noteworthy attendees included:

Sargent produces Sonic fasteners, specialty bolts, fuse pins and close-tolerance machined products for commercial and military aircraft. We specialize in hot-forged, high strength threaded products manufactured from both standard and exotic materials.

Fuse Pins: Designed to mechanically shear in flight critical modes, ensuring structural maintenance.
Specials: Specific design for a particular assembly; specific life or load limitations based on fatigue, stress, tensile or loads.
Pawl Bolts: Designed with Pawl locking device to ensure retention of nut and maintain integrity of the structure.
Torque Bolts: Designed to torque off at prescribed load, eliminating the need for torque wrenches.
Hinge Pins: Designed with proprietary applied coatings (Tungsten Carbide) over lightweight Titanium substrate when wear resistance & weight are factors.

Sargent's New Product Introduction (NPI) department is another way we leverage our engineering expertise as a trusted OEM to identify and manage emerging aircraft repair opportunities. Through NPI, we're placing R&D for RBC MRO Services alongside manufacturing in order to test advances in design on our own production components while gearing up for the inevitable repairs of those products later.

NPI places extra emphasis on designated engineering representative (DER) repairs and parts manufacturer approval (PMA) components. In fact, out of the 60 repairs we've rolled out since NPI's creation, a high percentage have been DERs.

Sargent stocks millions of dollars of inventory – including more than 20,000 line items across 22 ATA chapters – available for worldwide shipment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Inventory pools include high usage items, rotable exchanges, expendable piece parts and items removed from aircraft disassembly. To remain at the forefront of customer requirements, our market-savvy sales professionals constantly update fluctuating market values, pursue new generation inventory and invest in growing our exchange pool programs.
